How a plastic pallet changed a whole industry

The national beverage pallet association in the Netherlands (Drankenpallet Beheer Nederland, DPB) maintains a shared pallet pool for beverage manufacturers and brewers.
In 2012, it chose CABKA‘s circular pallet BPPi9 to replace more than 800,000 wooden pallets.

The story of the two largest breweries worldwide: How switching to plastic pallets unlocked efficiencies in the supply chain

Until a few years ago, the Dutch brewery Heineken, one of the largest in the world, transported all its 50l kegs on wooden pallets. Like many other companies, they used to struggle with a lot of problems that are unavoidable with wooden pallets: safety issues when handling, high repair costs, dirt from chips and splinters, increased weight when wet, and higher disposal costs.

We worked with them to develop a circular pallet solution that solves these problems.
